THE WORKSHOPS

Vicky has a Contemporary Decorative Crafts degree, and has taught pupils in further education and those that love to learn, whatever their age. Vicky will share her own tips and techniques with you, and take you step-by-step through the glass-fusing process so that you can create your own unique piece of glass art.

You will gain an understanding of the materials, techniques and processes involved.  You will be shown how to cut glass, add inclusions and create your own masterpiece.

Refreshments are freely available throughout the day to keep you fully fuelled, lunch is available next door at the Tack Room Cafe, where they serve fantastic locally sourced food.

Taster workshops;              £50 pp

2.5 hours long, can be held am or pm.

You'll create your choice of;

  • Coasters 

  • Window hangings/Light catchers

One day workshops;            £80 pp

4.5 hours and an hour break for lunch.

You will create your choice of;

  • Plater

  • Decorative panel

  • Lantern (additional cost of £10) 30cm x 15cm

and if there is time, some light catchers.

Five week course;                  £250 pp

These courses are weekly 2.5 hour sessions. 

You will have a chance to thoroughly develop your knowledge and ideas to create some really lovely work to take pride of place in your home or as gift for someone special. 

 

  • Starting with making test tiles and experimenting.

  • From the results of your test tiles you will gain a good knowledge of what works well with the materials used. 

  • You will learn about how glass works in the kiln, the process involved in fused glass techniques, glass cutting and grinding.

  • Based on these results you will move on to developing ideas and designs and refine your skills with Vicky’s help and guidance. 

  • By the end of the five weeks you will have a collection of finished pieces.
